The internal specs of the Prestige Lite are identical to the Prestige version except the Prestige has a very high-end brushed aluminum case with a built-in VFD display and i/r receiver.

The FiireStation runs LinuxMCE and can be used also as a PC. However, it also has specialized video decoding hardware to provide the best video quality, and offload all video processing, including sophisticated 1080i de-interlacing, OpenGL 3D effects, and alpha blending, all in the video hardware. The FiireStation includes licensed MPEG decoders and DVD playback. It can be used with either a FiireEngine, or your own LinuxMCE PC or as stand-alone machines. The end result is you get better video quality than the massive, high end Windows Vista MCE systems, which require very expensive, power-hungry, hot processors to do the 3D alpha blended effects in Aero and video playback in MCE. The FiireStation offers even better video and a smoother UI experience.

The Fiire Station is availabel in 3 versions: 1) a slim 2" silent VESA and Wall mount version: the Invisible. 2) An elegant, brushed aluminum set-top box with vacuum fluorescent display: the Prestige. 3) And the Prestige Lite, identical to the Prestige inside, enclosed in an economical plastic enclosure. All have custom quiet fans.

The Invisible is designed to mount behind a standard VESA mount equipped flat panel Plasma or LCD TV set. This means for the first time ever, you can have a full HD PVR and media player solution without any visible set top box or exposed cables.

The Prestige and Prestige Lite, versions have more room for expansion cards. The Invisible version does not provide Blu Ray drive, so you can either attach a USB DVD or Bly Ray drive or leave your discs in a drive or jukebox attached to the FiireEngine.

*Now you can configure the Fiire Stations as a Core for a nominal fee to provide a single machine, stand-alone solution.
